Forty Two Wares is a collaborative art project that focuses on fashion styling. Using the emergent technologies of the machine learning age, we capture both images and forms. Images are the easy part—“fashion” is essentially images of clothing, whether that be runways, editorial work, fitpics, etc.; fashion is always at arm’s length. It is something decidedly intangible, inaccessible. Forms, on the other hand, are a bit trickier. A form is information about the beginning and ending of an object’s presence in space. That element of “presence” is deliberately vague; it can encompass the visual, the audible, and the tactile. Until recently, the creation of images necessitated the flattening of forms—now, this concession isn’t necessary.
