Pitch Syntax
issue_02: dark web pitches are open.
Syntax is a magazine about culture and the Internet. We are currently accepting pieces for issue_02: dark web. Successful submissions engage thoughtfully with untraditional forms, take advantage of the browser as a medium, and are generous with their time and attention.
We accept writing on (but not limited to) Whatsapp scams, music videos, cybernetics, Tumblr porn, clickwork, bootlegs, surveillance, metadata, Substack soapboxes, worldbuilding, glitches, fanfiction, mukbangs, lurking, Grindr, Youtube essays, censorship, hypertext, open-source radio, context collapse, webtoons, missed connections…
We do not want to read anything by or about ChatGPT.
We accept film, photography, animations, generative art, computational poetry, new media, original music, games, browser exhibitions, and more.
Literary submissions will be evaluated in full.
Email editors@syntaxmag.online to pitch or submit a piece by January 26, 2024. For pitches, please include one or two samples of your previous work.
Syntax is staffed entirely of volunteers operating on a minimal budget. We cannot compensate you as much as we would like to, but hope to collaborate all the same ♥
